Cuts and Grazes

The Director:

Tonje Wik Olaussen has produced and directed work in England, New York, Edinburgh and Norway. Recent productions include: A Study on the Stillness of Love by Andre Neely (ZOO Southside, Edinburgh Fringe), Sex and God by Linda McLean (Platform Islington & the Edric Theatre), and Normal by Paul Wallis (St James Theatre). She is the Artistic Director of independent theatre company Blackout Creative Arts and co-founder of Cuts and Grazes. Tonje holds a Masters in Ensemble Theatre from Rose Bruford College and a Bachelor degree in Creative Producing from London South Bank University (UK).

 

The Producer:

Lindsay Weldon currently bounces back and forth between London and Washington, DC. In the US she was on the executive board of Bread & Water Theatre Company in Rochester, NY. She has done marketing for the DC theatre company We Happy Few, and was the audience services coordinator for several years at the illustrious Folger Theatre, part of Folger Shakespeare Library. She graduated from Rose Bruford with an MA in Ensemble Theatre. While in London she produced Normal by Paul Wallis for the Trinity Collge International Playwriting Festival at St. James Theatre.

The Cast:

Ailis trained at Drama Studio London. Theatre credits include: Dog Play Dead (Theatre 503; Edinburgh Fringe; Bread and Roses Theatre), Story Box (LOST Theatre), Playground: Swings and Roundabouts (Horse & Stables), and King Lear (Tristan Bates Theatre). She is also part of the musical improvisation group Notflix, who regularly perform at the Proud Archivist in Haggerston.

 

Anna Carfora graduated from Rose Bruford College with an MA in Ensemble Theatre in 2014. She also holds a two year diploma based on the Lecoq method Scuola di Teatro Arsenale. She recently wrote and performed her piece Circular at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015. Previous productions include Sex and God by Linda McLean (Platform Islington & Edric Theatre), Painted Faces (Vault Festival), Normal by Paul Wallis (St. James Theatre).

 

Eva O'Connor is an actress and playwright from Ireland. During her time at Edinburgh University, she founded Sunday's Child Theatre Company through which she has produced five plays: Overshadowed, My Name is Saoirse, Clinical Lies, My Best Friend Drowned, In A Swimming Pool, and Substance. Sunday's Child won the NSDF Best Emerging Artist Award in 2012, and has performed work in Edinburgh, Dublin, London and Berlin. Eva won a place on the Traverse 50 Playwriting scheme in 2013, and has performed regularly as a storyteller at the Scottish Story Telling Centre. In 2014 she first performed her critically acclaimed show My Name is Saoirse, and this year it was published by Bloomsbury. She holds an MA in Theatre Ensemble at Rose Bruford College.

 

Anne is a French performer and film maker. She trained at Ateliers du Sudden in Paris and holds a Masters degree in Ensemble Theatre from Rose Bruford College. Anne created Yosis in 2013, a street poetry performance company. She works in London and Paris, and is currently preparing Chantiers de Prison with Jacky Katu. Previous productions include Sex and God by Linda McLean with Cuts and Grazes (Platform Islington & Edric Theatre), Incidences, based on the work of Daniil Kharms (The Barn Theatre), The Bridge of San Luis Rey, an adaption of Thornton Wilder’s novel (Studio Space).

Cuts and Grazes theatre company creates ambitious ensemble theatre projects around current social issues. The company brings together female theatre-makers from 6 different countries across Europe and America.  Cuts and Grazes was created in London in 2014.
